Have You ever heard about NuVinci. And what the hell it is have to do with mountain biking. Well a couple of weeks ago and I have never heard of it, but it gains bigger and bigger popularity these days. It is something that can remove those irritating issues with changing the gears of your mountain bike. At first I thought it is some kind of science fiction and it would become a market reality in may be 5 or more years, and a couple of my friends were sure that you cannot buy it, yet. And last week I wanted to dig into it and I found that you can buy it, right now, as you can buy any other product. I am telling you this is something from the future, it has revolutionary technology. It will change the history not only of mountain biking and bicycling in general, but the whole “Gear Industry”. Of Course I was looking for something that can fit into Downhill biking, but the warranty for these product is not for freeride and downhill. I hope they would create something for us – extreme bikers, cause only we know how terrifying is, when the gears block or the chain unhook from cranks.
Imagine that you shift the gears with no loss of power, without clicking, squeaking, cracking and other mad noises coming from the chain. And it is not right to say shifting cause it hasn”t fixed gears it changes the speed of the rear wheel at the same way that you zoom up and down the volume of your stereo. Yes it is that easy. And of course about the price. At first I was sure the cost for these device will be 1000 bucks and more, but when I saw the real price it was like a hitting onto the floor – as much as $350 and going dramatically down, because of the big interest in this technology. You would think as I thought in the beginning it is too high I can buy Saint for these price. Then I make simple maths and I found myself on the floor for second time. Everything would cost me…. Well let”s do it together: What You need for your bike first rear hub, then cassette 7 to 9 speeds, chain 7 to 9 speeds, derailleur and shifter. If you are like me and you buy everything for your bike with the highest quality, in my case XTR or Saint, it would cost you about 600 BUCKS. Maaaan, this is frustrating You give double the money for 1/10 of the quality. Even if you are not so passioned about biking and you want something in the middle class it is again more expensive then NuVinci or the same price depending on the dealer, year and exact model. What can we say about road and comfort bicycles. I am sure you know the answer for the road bikes in the highest class it is about a thousand in the middle it is 500-600 hundred and in the lowest it is a bit bigger then the NuVinci. Many of you would say what about the weight well you have one device with one cable and one shifter. In conventional technology you would have there more devices and the chain would be longer, even if NuVinci is a bit heavier than these altogether in aerodynamics it beats commercials for sure. But I want to check it out I will use the lightest of Shimano”s series for this test. Let”s see Dura Ace package is about 696g. And the NuVinci is 3900g. There I think we lost the battle, but the advantages of this hub are in it non-fixed gear ratios and the ease of changing the speed, which is crucial part of road biking experience. As every big rider would tell you the main part to get first to the finish is to keep your pulse as low as you can. And with this technology it is very easy and possible even for non experienced bikers.\r\n\r\nAbout the warranty of the system for light mountain, road and comfort bikes it is world and I think two years, which is very much, as we know Shimano”s warranty rules God knows where, when, how and why, You know what I mean, this is broken well it haven”t been mounted correctly that”s why it is broken “NO WARRANTY GO HOME OR BUY NEW FROM US” Shut the f..k up NuVinci is times better then your before Christ technology.\r\n\r\nIn conclusion I can say Thank You da Vinci for NuVinci. And I will buy it in next couple of weeks cause I have to tell you how it is in the mountains, no matter for the warranty the other things are enough for me to buy it.\r\n\r\n
